The common European reference framework
The common European reference framework describes six internationally comparable levels:
- A1 and A2: Elementary language use
- B1 and B2: Independent language use
- C1 and C2: Competent language use
European Language Level (CEF)
Understanding familiar words and very simple sentences spoken slowly and clearly.
Understanding individual words and very simple sentences, e.g. on signs and posters.
Communicating in short words.
Writing short, simple postcards and completing forms.
